Quotation "This is a book about fast food, the values it embodies, and the world it has made."
This book I find very interesting because I used to watch a whole bunch of movies last year on how to stay fit and about how they would brudally murder animals to make meat yada yada yada. Then this year I'm actually reading a book about what its doing to our world and where it all came from and how it has impacted us as a whole. So far in the story, Jim Hightower reviewed emerging fast food industry as a threat to independent buisness and demanded to do something about it. Then they start talking about on page three how fast food has taken over the world nation wide and made BIG people. This story so far reminds me of the movie Super Size Me. I say this because in that movie a guy sees how fast people grow as they keep eating fast food. Hes a really in shape guy and he wants to do a project on where he eats only McDonalds for a couple weeks or months and sees what happens to him. After eating McDonalds for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, everything about him changes. Physically, mentally, and emotionally. When the whole process of the project is over with he then starts to work out everyday and become healthy once again. He then starts talking about why so many people in his opinion eat fast food restaurants. Our economyt is going down hill when it comes to money and the only thing people can afford now and days to feed their whole family including themselves is a most likely a fast food place . For example McDonalds, A large drink, a huge burger, and fries would cost you a little over five dollars. If you went to another place to get lets say salad, it would cost you around seven dollars or so. Since were all having money issues we would all probably go with the McDonalds meal. If it were me I would get the McDonalds but don't eat the fries or the buns on the burger. Sounds funny but people will do anything to eat and stay healthy at the same time and this book isn't talking about ways you can stay fit and healthy while eating at fast food places. Its talking about how fast food places originated from, how much money do these fast food places make, how it has expanded nation wide and what is the effect from it all.

You make some great connections in this post and give a good summary of the author's main points about the impact of fast food on society. The salad versus burger example is quite effective.
